Me, and the wife went to S.A.R. West at the AZ State fairgrounds in Phoenix AZ on Friday.
we left at 5 in the morning and made it by 10:30 AZ time just in time for the opening bell.

got to see a bunch of great people ive known for a while like Robert from RTG Surplus. Got to talk to Dolph Goldsmith, and he is doing well and he set me up with a pair of new Maxim spade grip wood. Got to talk to Rick Shab of BMG parts, and he is doing very well and set me up with some leg straps for browning tripods, and a 2 pc booster. Got to talk to Rollin from 1917a1.com and he has his prototype 1917 Bmg sideplates finished to the point where he could display it and it looked good. Hooked up with OOW and got to talk to Ed again, and they set me up with several spares ive needed for my 1919.

spoke with several industry insiders and they all told me the grim news that they are at the end of the Browning 1919 stuff - i need to buy more stuff before its gone and i cant really afford it right now

lots of people complimented us on our shirts

got to meet Rick Winters from the L2a3 Sterling project
http://www.sterlingl2a3.com/
very pleasant fellow, and his product looked great!! Very impressed with his display, and he gave my wife a Sterling hat, and he liked our T shirt and promised he would wear one if i sent it in trade for the hat. He mentioned wishing he could have met you also Tom (VegasSMG)

got to meet Eric at Lakeside Machine and he had his razorback 22LR belt fed uppers at the show. After checking it out and seeing how it was basically a miniature 1919 adapted to an AR15 lower, and after playing with it i had to buy the Mrs. one

and then i found something ive wanted for a very very long time - a 2 hole shortened 1919 shroud, barrel, and booster
the shortest ive seen them before is 16 or 12 inch - this is about 7 or 8 inches, and it has the perfect amount of holes (2) in the jacket to attach the israeli a6 bipod(still new in the grease in pics)

i need to get the Engraver setup to engrave something cool on the booster end.

its a .308 setup and i hope to get some very impressive fireballs out of it. I need to borrow Doc Cheneys lathe to turn down a 54r barrel (and i saw Doc at the show - he was grabbing some mg42 drums)

i bought 3000 30 caliber projectiles so since i dont have much .308 i might have to load some with the new projectiles to play with this setup

received email from a shooter concerned about the configuration of my 1919 possibly being a short barreled rifle and i should have clarified from the very beginning that this is a National Firearms Act (NFA) transferable machine gun and they are not subject to the short barrel rifle rules. MG trumps the SBR rules

sorry - should have been more clear from the start, and honestly, thank you for the concern!!

best
Mike

Great after action report from the SAR Show!

With that new 1919 barrel, I guess I won't have the most obnoxiously loud and the biggest flame thrower at our shoots with my M-16 shorty...
Whoever said bigger is better was obviously not talking about barrel length. ;)

Unlike their LM-7 uppers, the Razorback from Lakeside has received excellent reviews. One of our subgunners bought an LM-7 several years ago and could never get it to run in full auto.
It was an ubber cool little upper but he didn't buy it to shoot in semi auto.

I hope you're working on the MG42 AA tripod and spade grips for Mrs. Perro.
