January ViMSAR Results
It was a bright clear morning when we arrived, but a mite chilly. By about 10.00am it warmed up and turned into a beautiful day.
Mud Duck was in rare form and along with the obligatory bayonet and grenade throw, we also had to knock down bowling pins and burst balloons, all from the standing position. And that was just Stage 1.
Stage 2 had hit/don't hit targets and everyone's favorite, the SKS grenade launcher.
Two stages of multiple distance targets, one from prone position and the other with a 45 second limit. And everyone's other favorite, the spud bazooka.
Finally, a double Texas Star stage for Thompson and handgun. Bonuses for shooting the handgun single-handed or weak-handed.
With all the bonuses, a possible total score of around 105 points.

February ViMSAR Results
What a great match Mud Duck put on for us. Five stages, including three with multiple distance targets.
The tie breaker stage had a head/body target for bonus points, along with the traditional bayonet and grenade throw. Stage five was the dreaded double Texas Star. Five rounds pistol, six rounds with the Tommy gun.
And many thanks to Dustin and Nick for all the great food. For some reason, nobody touched my jackalope stew. Hmm ...??

April ViMSAR Match Results
Wow, what a perfect day. The weather cleared up during the night, and we had a beautiful sunny morning. A little wind, but not too bad.
And the food ! Dustin did a wonderful job behind the bbq grille with buffalo steaks and burgers, along with hot links. We also had dishes from some of the other members, including some slightly runny ice cream from yours truly. ("But I like it runny .....")
Mud Duck set up six stages, with one including five rounds prone at 500 yds. Two other stages were set at 45 seconds, as many rounds as you could fire. This was our tune up match for the folks going to Utah next month for the two day event.
Possible high score of around 108

Apparently, bayonet and grenade throwing aren't enough for Mud Duck anymore, as he included shooting at balloons and bowling pins this month. A whopping thirty points could be scored in bonuses alone !
Stages inclided shooting from behind a 'barricade' from the sitting position, and using shooting sticks from the standing position. Stage five was a double Texas Star.

A beautiful sunny day, with the wind starting to gust by mid morning. Mud Duck kept the five stages pretty fast, and we beat the worst heat of the day.
We had one shotgun only stage, two stages with multiple distance targets, one with a head/body/hostage scenario and the last with a bowling pin/steel target combo.
Pistol and Tommy gun were included on one stage, and the obligatory bayonet/knife/communications wiring added to the tie breaker stage.

July ViMSAR Results
So we thought we'd have it easy with Mud Duck away fishing this weekend.
But no, he sent his evil son, Dustin, to design the stages and run the match. We had double bayonet throwing, grenade pitching, hostages and moving targets to contend with, all wrapped up in five stages of off hand and prone supported shooting. Plus Tommy gun and pistol, through a window.
And then there was the shotgun stage with the 'secret' messages ......

Once again, Dustin stepped up to the plate and put on a great match for us. Five stages, including shotgun, pistol and a variation on the old bayonet toss. Two of the rifle stages were shot off hand and the other two from prone supported. Throw in some hostage/don't hit targets and you've got yourself a fun time.
Best costume: Steve Franks.

September ViMSAR Results
Sorry it's taken me a few days to get to this. My work schedule has been tortuous.
Well, not the fastest match we've put on, but that's the gamble you take when you use moving targets. They're fun and challenging, but only when they work.
With the demise of that prop during the match, we cancelled all the results for Stage 3, so it became a four stage match.
A good mixture of positions, including prone on a cot ! A lot less wobble for the folks shooting 7.62x39 than those using .30-06.
A double grenade toss and hatchet throw on stage one, along with obstacle hurdles. And a double Texas Star for pistol and Tommy Gun to round out the match.
These are the correct scores, after Stage 3 had been subtracted.

Well, between the gun show, a big MG match in AZ and high winds, our little band of shooters was quite depleted this month. But a good time was had by all.
Mud Duck kept it quick with four stages, all with some kind of bonus. The mandatory grenade/bayonet toss on the tie breaker stage, a head/body target on Stage 2, and small bonus targets on 3 and 4.

November ViMSAR Results
We had a great turnout this month. Maybe because Mud Duck, Nick and Dustin cooked us up a wonderful breakfast of biscuits, buffalo gravy and eggs. Or maybe because we had our annual Thanksgiving turkey shoot along with the regular match.
It was great to see Ron Broughton back out on the firing line so soon after his surgery.
We had the obligatory grenade toss, and Mud Duck included two limited time stages, one with unlimited rounds. The fourth stage had us engaging multiple distance targets.
Possible high score of around 62.

December ViMSAR Results
We started with a beautiful clear sunny day, but with a cutting wind. It warmed up slightly by mid morning. Several of our regulars brought snacks, as this was our 'Christmas' match, so we had doughnuts, hot chocolate, hot cider, coffee and several types of homemade cookies.
Mud Duck kept it pretty simple, with fifteen rifle rounds on each stage. A grenade toss and bayonet throw on our tie breaker stage, a hostage 'don't hit' target on stage two, and a ten target 'Banzai' charge to stem on stage three. Pistol and Tommy Gun on stage four, along with an Easter Egg shoot. (I think Mud Duck's getting his holidays mixed up.)

Possible high score of 88.

June ViMSAR Results
A beautiful sunny day, with the wind starting to gust by mid morning. Mud Duck kept the five stages pretty fast, and we beat the worst heat of the day.
We had one shotgun only stage, two stages with multiple distance targets, one with a head/body/hostage scenario and the last with a bowling pin/steel target combo.
Pistol and Tommy gun were included on one stage, and the obligatory bayonet/knife/communications wiring added to the tie breaker stage.
Possible high score of 116.
