January ViMSAR Results
A cold morning warmed up nicely and it was quite pleasant out at the range by the time we finished.
Mud Duck set up four stages, two with multiple distance targets, one timed and one tie breaker with grenade and bayonet throw.
Bobby Ramsay had a great match, clearing the rest of pack by five points, and Randy Urbank took home the No 'M' Award, shooting his FAL.
Possible high score of around 70

February ViMSAR Results
A beautiful sunny day, spoiled only by the smoke. And the smoke. Mud Duck took the day off, so Dustin set up the stages. Hmmm ....
The tie breaker stage was shot from a smoke chamber with a firing port which gave the advantage to the vertically challenged. But at least you could find your brass easily.
Three stages with multiple distance targets, one shot through a more smoke and one with hostage/don't hit targets. All shot from sitting or prone position.
And then a pistol/shotgun-from-the-hip stage with the Texas Star and three knockdowns.
Possible high score of 88.

March ViMSAR Results
We had a pretty good turnout, even though we lost some of our regular shooters to the Big Sandy machine gun match in Arizona. And the Cashman gun show.
Mud Duck gave us four stages, each with a small first shot/one shot bonus target. Three of the stages had multiple distance targets, including the pistol and Tommy Gun.
Many thanks to Dan Davis who couldn't stay and shoot, but came out to donate three vintage style WWII posters to be presented to the top two and lowest place M-1 shooter - Jake, we've still got your poster.

April ViMSAR Results
Despite gusting winds we had some good scores. Mud Duck set up five stages, including our obligatory tie breaker with bayonet and grenade toss.
A new twist on Stage 2 had us setting our rear sights first and then flipping a coin to decide which targets we'd have to engage, 100 or 300yds.
Two of the stages were 45 seconds, as many rounds as possible, to get us ready for the Utah match next month. One stage shot prone at multiple distance targets.
Then a short walk to Range 9 to shoot at 200, 300, 400 and 500 yds.
Possible high score of around 103.

May ViMSAR Results
A great day for shooting. Nice and sunny with not too much wind.
Mud Duck set up four stages for us this month. Along with the grenade/bayonet toss, the tie breaker stage included five pistol rounds at the infamous Texas Star, and then the rifle targets had to be engaged from the sitting position, facing 90 degrees to the firing line.
Stage Two had hostage targets to miss, and small targets to hit. Stage Three was a 200, 300, 400 yd sweep and Stage four was a 45 second, all you can fire, at two distances.
Possible high score of around 91.

June ViMSAR Results
Bonus, bonus, bonus ! Some high final scores this month because Mud Duck went a little crazy with the bonus points.
Stage One was a head/body target, with three points for every head shot. This was the timed tie breaker stage.
Stage Two was a hit/don't hit scenario with 'hostages' around the target. Three points for each good hit, but minus one point for each hostage hit.
Stage Three was a multiple distance stage with three targets.
Possible high score of 141.

July ViMSAR Results
A hot day with very little breeze to cool us down, but Mud Duck set up four pretty quick stages that got us finished before noon.
Stage One was the tie breaker, with bayonet and grenade toss, and five pistol rounds on five bowling pins. Then ten rifle rounds off hand at two targets.
Stage Two was 45 seconds, as many rounds as possible at three swingers, fired standing using a barricade for support.
Stages Three and Four were both multiple distance targets, one shot prone and the other sitting behind a log. Sixteen rounds on each.
We included a sniper side match for any eligible ViMBAR or ViMSAR rifle. Same course of fire as the main match.
Possible high score of around 75.

Mud Duck was away for the weekend, so Dustin set us up with five quick stages.
For Stage 1, we used the tactical house on Range 2. Six rounds double tapping targets with a Tommy Gun and then five pistol rounds on the Texas Star.
Stage 2 was the tie breaker, with the standard grenade toss. Then ten rounds alternating on two targets.
Stage 3 was ten rounds shot off hand, double tapping three swingers.
Stages 4 and 5 were multiple targets, one shot from the sitting position and the other supported.
These are the correct scores.

September ViMSAR Results
A warm day with gusting winds, and a good turnout for a special occasion! Happy birthday, Dustin. So Mud Duck had to put out balloons. Balloons to hit off hand at 200yds, and balloons to burst by splitting a bullet in half by shooting at an axe blade with a 1911 pistol. (I think Mud Duck's been watching that Amazing Sharpshooters show on the History Channel too much).
And that was just Stage One, the tie breaker stage. And we couldn't do without the bayonet and grenade toss.
Stages Two and Three had us shooting at multiple distance targets spread across the whole range, three minutes maximum for each stage.
Stage Four included the dueling tree for six pistol rounds, and then 45 seconds to hit a two hundred yard target and then move to a four hundred yard target, as many rounds as possible.
The sniper side match was won by Jim Drulensky.
Possible high score around 80.

December ViMSAR Results
A cold but bright day, with some snow still evident on the berms. Dustin set up four stages starting with the tie breaker, pitching the grenade through the machine gun slit and then sixteen rounds sweeping three targets at 200yds.
Stage Two had three suspended targets at 200yds, 16 rounds, double tap, timed 1 minute, from standing position. These targets turn when they are hit.
On Stage Three we had to sweep three 300yd. targets, sixteen rounds, from the sitting position.
We had another 1 minute scenario on Stage 4, engaging the 400yd. target with a maximum of 20 rds, prone supported. The snipers had the added challenge of first having to hit a small target at 300yds, painted white and set in front of a snow bank.
We shot six pistol rounds at the dueling tree.
Possible high score of about 79.
