April shoot... Sunday the 18th at 10:00AM

Greetings fellow shooters!

Mark your calendars... our next shoot will be held on Sunday, April 18th, 10:00AM, at the "hup cap spot". With the huge size of the New Years Day shoot, we were forced us re-think how we do things. This will be a "Bring Your Own" event. That means you're responsible for supplying your own ammo, food, water, etc.

In the past, many people have been generous to a fault with their time, and money as well as their firearms and ammo. Perro shouldered a lot of responsibility for planning and organizing, as well as buying, preparing, and serving food. Rick-in-Vegas recognized the need for a dedicated RSO and took on that duty, (and more!) so he didn't shoot that day to keep all of us safe. Along with Perro, he arrived before sunrise and left well after sunset. In addition to his large food contribution, he brought a truck load of tables and chairs without which we wouldn't have enjoyed the day as much as we all did. I know that HDI went through a minimum of 6K rounds of ammunition to include 2k of .308 which isn't exactly cheap. Ron, like most of us, is very generous with his toys. Please bring factory fresh ammo in calibers you may want to shoot or insist on paying for what you use. The "fun stuff" will easily consume ten bucks worth of ammo in two seconds. No one wants to say no when people ask to shoot their guns, so please be mindful of ammo costs.

Of course you can. We do ask that any quest who's inexperienced be closely supervised. One of the few things that won't be tolerated is poor muzzle discipline.

Grimm This day wasn't the first choice for several of us. It'll be a long day of sun and shooting and some of us won't get home until after the sun goes down. Monday morning will come really early.


HDI and Infinite Arms have businesses to run and Saturday is a big sales day for them. Sunday really is their only good option.

Unfortunately I won't be at next month's "first Saturday of the month shoot". A prior commitment prevents my attendance.

Went to the shoot today and had a GREAT time, not as many people as the last time but i still had a blast and thanks to everyone for a great sunday, lotta fun.

What a great day! As far as total number of people, I counted 44 which was manageable, pleasant and larger doesn't always translate into being better.

It was refreshing to leave my gear at home for a change and besides, it was my turn. Honestly, I didn't mind at all.
At the end of the day I had nothing to pack up, unload, or clean. Thanks for the belt Mike.

Thanks for the kind words Bulleteater and welcome to the forum!
It was a warm day and I don't think anyone brought enough water. I drank almost two gallons after I got home. Most people enjoy looking at photos and I enjoy snapping them for everyone's enjoyment. I'm glad you liked them even if my camera is crappy.

These events are all about the people who attend. It's your time, your ammo, which makes it your shoot. In the past, others have generously given of their time to help make sure the shoots were safe we kept some semblance of order. it was my turn to help. I was there to serve you the shooter, and I hope I stayed out of everyone's way so they could enjoy themselves. I'd appreciate any feed back on all aspects of the day... even if it's negative. We learn from our mistakes. Were the cease fires called often enough? Were they too long? Too short? Was the thirty minute lunch break about right? What can we do differently to make these events better from a shooter's perspective? We're listening.

VegasSMG, thanks for posting all those great pictures. I had a fun time. I'm glad I wasnt' buying the Tannerite, there was plenty of it. LOL
