Don't you have a transferable AK pending? We need photos of the one with the additional axis pin. ;)

If these aren't safe queens, you really should consider shooting one of the ViMBAR matches with one of those beautiful AKs. It's a ton of fun and your first event is free. I promise it beats shooting rocks and cans in the desert.

Sounds like fun.....I may take you up on that........Here is the Chinese Type 56 that (I hope is pending). Someone turned it into a Russian AKM clone. The internals look East German. I've put together the parts to restore it to an original Chinese rifle. I'am going to have it professionally restored and blued. So here is your additional axis pin.

I was told back in the day a lot of Chinese conversions were made into Russian AKM clones. If you look at this one, it has a Russian AKM butt stock and upper hand guard. The lower hand guard and pistol grip are from a milled Type 3 Russian rifle. Now they are mostly being made into Krinks (as we call them). This rifle has almost no other markings on it, except a very small importer marking. Since I love Chinese prebans, this will make a nice Chinese military rifle if done correctly. Mario at POHF can weld up the old selector markings and detentes. Then engrave the Chinese selector markings, add new detentes and install my Chinese FA parts. Also some of the rivets will need replaced. Then matte blue it. Lucky for me I found a demilled FA Chinese Type 56 on GunBroker. Chinese FA bolt carriers are not that common. I also now have a complete new barrel assembly that is in it's original blue and has an excellent barrel. It was also imported by the same small company in California as this rifle was. The only other difference is the kit is an under folder.

Mario at POH has a great reputation! I don't know how far along you are in your transfer, but it seems to be taking longer now than when BATF was in D.C. I can tell you from first hand experience they were very, very slow back then.
I'd shoot the snot out of it before I sent it off to Mario.

I had to resubmit the paper work. The BATFE said it got lost in the mail. I bought a M16A1 to play with while Mario has it. But that is pending also. Thanks for putting up Mario's link. I didn't know if that would be proper of me to do.
